The special CW/RTTY Keys feature works great in CW - but not in RTTY. You have to go back and forth between the *MMTTY window* and the *QSO entry window* in order for it to work in RTTY. This was a issue in ver 8.05 and looks like it hasn’t changed in ver 9.
