It is normal that the most of the users still use dx4win are not
interested for auto upload to lotw, clublog and eqsl. After some time I
believe the majority of the dx4win users will be like me: they will not
have interest for ft8 as well.
Dx4win should be able to offer these 2 things. Of course switchable auto
or not. But this is what most of the people ask today. I have showed
dx4win to many new hams. I explain that the most important thing in a
logging program is to be reliable (not loose my qsos) and show the right
dxcc entity and zone of every call. Dx4win does perfect these 2 things.
I am a CQ checker in my country. You can not believe how many mistakes
other programs have in zones. But all the new hams are interesting for
ft8 and other digi and they don't like the way dx4win handles this. Also
they want to be able easily upload to lotw and clublog. In combination
that they need to pay for dx4win (not a few $) the most of them go away.
This is not good for most of us even we are ok with dx4win...

Hi Bruce
Let me be clear : I like DX4Win a lot. It has many features that are
very easy to use, and does MOST of what I (and may I think most users)
expect from a logging program.
Re LoTW, it has been experiencing long delays in the past weeks/days,
but uploads take a few minutes if not seconds to be completed when it
works OK.
Bruce, count the number of mouse clicks your procedure needs, even
including reading the email you receive from LoTW., and including the
newly confirmed QSOs into your log.
The program by N2AMG called L32LogSync requires 2 (two) clicks to do
ALL this (this program works with Logger32 and DXLab, at least).
If this program works with 2 logging programs, it should work with 3,
obviously requiring changes in DX4Win architecture. Are these changes
a 2 year-job or a few hours, I do not know, I am a full ignorant in
computering.
And again, this could be optional if this was to be implemented some day.
As for logging WSJT/JTDX QSO directly into DX4Win, I see no reason why
to object to such improvement.
So my question to the developpers remain : what are they working on,
if they are working on anything ?

I upload my contacts to LoTW via e-mail. That way I get an e-mail
back from
LoTW when they have added the calls to my account. They also tell me
if I
have any new confirmations and who they are.

Me neither, I prefer to control how and what I upload my Lotw
QSO's. A great
improvement could be like in some contest programs the Shortened RST
in CW.
Simple cero as T
Advanced cero as T and nine as N
Expert cero as T, Nine as N and one as A
What do you think?????
Thanks

Just one long time users opinion,
As flakey as LOTW has been recently I for one do not want my QSOs being
uploaded automatically/individually.
Would I like to see WSJT -> DX4WIN automation sometime in the future?
Sure
but it's not a huge deal for me. A couple copy/pastes and a few mouse
clicks
and all is good.
