If you have the latest Yaesu firmware update for the FTDX101 and have problems with the Mode, try slowing the baud rate and increasing the CAT Time Out Timer in the radio.
The FTdx-101 rig file defaults to 38400. Select a lower baud rate in DX4WIN in the File > Preferences > Radio by unselecting the Default box for the Baud Rate and type 9600 as the Baud Rate for a test. Then Save Changes and Exit. Change your FTDX101 menu settings for the lower baud rate, menu item Operation Setting > General > CAT Rate = 9600 and set CAT Time Out Timer to 1000msec. This change has corrected the Mode issue for some users.
