When you use any of the "sound card modes", the Elecraft radios have no way of knowing what mode you are using. They all look the same to the radio. There are two ways to deal with this:
1. From the Menu Bar at top: Radio > Ignore Mode in real time. This unlocks the RTTY designation, but you must now enter the mode manually for every QSO. 2. My solution is to just log any FT8 or MSK144 QSOs in WSJT-X and periodically import wsjtx_log.adi into dx4win: File > Import/Export > (select ADIF) > Import. Set the option for duplicate QSOs to "Duplicate QSO is ignored". ---- 73, Mike Cizek W0VTT -----Original Message----- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net <dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net> On Behalf Of gw3sfc via DX4WIN Sent: Wednesday, 10 August, 2022 05:59 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Mode Locked in RTTY I have used dx4win for over 12 years with different Icom radio without an issue. Using the software with an Elecraft K4 however is a different issue. It connects fine and reads frequency, however, I have one issue which I am unable to overcome. Using data modes FT4/FT8 it recognises the mode only as RTTY which is locked and unable I am to change until I log station, save, then reload. It will then enable me to change to any selectable mode. Is there any workaround? ______________________________________________________________ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
