I am a QSL MGR who uses DXBASE and have for many years.=20 I maintain a separate database for each station and in some cases more than= one database for a station when the QSO's exceed 150,000 I create a new= database.=20
For Qsl Cards I use both preprinted and fully generated cards using DXBASE.= =20 I use the label editor for all labels and cards as I use multiple card card= stock and individuals and for me this works best. I create a card in black= and white for bureau stuff which prints quickly and print the callsign a= second time on the card margin where bureau sorters need it for quicker= processing. This card is a text only card. I create a full colour card also= usually creating a map image for the background and clear text boxes for up= to 6 QSO's per card for non-bureau replies. I then I have some premium= colour photo QSL's for those who go the extra mile as it were to my card= and then I have a label file to print directly on the back of the card in= the proper spot the QSO data as the cards are run through the printer. When= naming the label I use names such as zd8zburo6tnx or ve3hoqslbackpse6= ve3hoqslbacktnx6 etc. I use a Cannon BJC 6000 colour ink jet printer. I do= about 25 - 50 QSL's each week in slack times and up to 500 to 700 a week in= really busy times just after a DX-Pedition. All these labels and cards= reside on one directory the default directory in DXbase and I choose them= as I require them. When answering QSL's I do one call at a time, print and= clear the list before starting the next group.=20 The only thing that would make things faster for me is to be able to choose= the printer queue from the look up screen when doing the lookup to confirm= a QSL received. Then I would not have to sort the stack first into the= various callsigns before starting the lookups.=20 73 VE3HO=20 At 02:30 PM 03/09/2002 -0600, FireBrick wrote: >trying to figure out how to use qsl cards to print out qsl info for the >stations I manage. >Smart Card won't work as it looks for MY personal data. > >I was hoping to just use the qsl.crd function. >Of course I can have qsl cards printed for the station I manage but I >wondered if using the .crd system would be more inventory correct. >You never know how many cards to print, address changes et. al.. >So this way I could just edit the info in the .crd file. > >Anybody have any idea on this. > > > >------------------------------------------------------------ >"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday" >Noelle - age 7 >------------------------------------------------------------ > >Bill H. in Chicagoland >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > >_______________________________________________ >DXBase Reflector - Please visit us on the web at www.dxbase.com >- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -=20 >To UNSUBSCRIBE please visit: >http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase
