I found a clue as to why I have lost my ability to send cw. This is using the Win XP OS and may not relate to your system. It seems that my systems (both hamshack computers) have lost DriverX.
If you go to My Computer, Right Click Choose Properties Choose Hardware Choose Device Manager Choose View Choose Show Hidden devices You will find under the Non-Plug and Play Drivers That DriverX indicates that there is a problem. It gives you an option to Delete. I tried deleting this Driver and reinstalling DXB but it did not replace DriverX although it can be still found in the Registry. So this time I deleted the Registry entry for DriverX and reinstalled DXB. Of course I did a reboot each time to make sure all registry and installation features took effect. The DriverX Key was reinstalled in the Registry but was not indicated in the Non-Plug and Play Drivers.
