Did you modify the Host file using the 'Modify Hosts file' option in the
File menu?
Or did you use something like Notepad?
The Host file should be saved WITHOUT a suffix extension. It will not work
if it has a name such as Hosts.txt

And of course it should be saved to the correct subdirectory which depends
on what version of Windows you are using.
which in XP is the following.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\etc

I can't remember the exact subdirectory navigation for Win98.
