Ed,

My comments are based on DXbase 2003.

The band plan mapping over-ride applies to whether DXbase should use the
mode from the radio as is, or should it use the mode from the band plan.
When entering a freq directly in the log, the band plan is always used. In
the default band plan mapping table we furnish, 50000 to 50099 is mapped as
CW, and 50100 and above is mapped to USB. So, if you entered 50100, the
mode would be USB. Below that the mode would be CW. Yes, this was a
requested feature so that those who manually enter a freq can benefit from
having the mode automatically determined based on band plan. RST is not
changed unless the mode is also changed ( see #24 of the enhancement list
from our web ).

So, the solution for your specific issue is to upgrade to 2003 and then when
entering a freq, enter one that maps to the right mode for the QSO you are
modifying.

Regards,
Jack
