Thanks, Jack. When I did this a couple of times simply doing a "search and replace", I replaced "COMMENT" with nothing. Weeks later I realized that all the log entries that had some spot comment attached had been ignored and not imported! I had to go back and delete, then reimport along with the spot chatter. I just got this suggestion yesterday from Tom. Meanwhile, he has modified Logger to delete the irrelevant spot comments on exporting .adi files in the first place.
By the way, I really like DXB. I keep a quasi-mirror copy on my laptop to print labels, but the definitive .mdb is on the desktop in the shack. If I ever get around to networking my laser printer, I might be able to avoid the extra steps :-) 73, George W1EBI -----Original Message----- From: Jack [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, December 29, 2002 12:09 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] Subject: Re: [DXBase] adding note to imported adif log for later selection George, The suggestion from Tom should work fine if your goal is to have the Comments ignored and not imported from your ADIF file. By using search/replace to change the name of the field to some bogus field name, it would be ignored during the import and only the comments you manually entered in the DXB import screen would show up. To avoid confusion, we always recommend changing a name to DUMMY so that we avoid any confusion, but Tom's suggestion would have the same effect.
