Thanks for the quick reply.  Sounds like a good combination.  I use 
HamScope and love it, and I have it interfaced with MMTTY currently.  I 
note that HamScope will call DXBase by simply selecting the Log option, and 
that seems to get me to where I want to go.

I also note that DXBase will accommodate satellite operations, which DX4WIN 
does, but in a "clunky" fashion.

I'm almost convinced.....thanks for helping me out!
