Back to the original question; does anyone know of a PCMCIA or USB adapter that is know to work? I am pretty sure that my problem does not lie in a hardware or software misconfiguration. I have switched the rig control and TNC from the built in to the USB serial port. Whichever device is on the built in port works, the one on the USB doesn't. I have even disabled the built-in port and tried just the USB to ensure that I didn't have a conflict. I know that the USB port is functioning since I my old logging software, a couple packet terminal apps and Hyper Terminal all work on the USB port fine. The problem is a little like Ed's though. When I start DXBase, it appears to read whatever is in the buffer. However, I do not see anything else.
