Mike, The process for getting a very old version of DXbase for DOS into the format required for importing into DXbase for Windows is basically as follows:
1. Using the v4.6 DXbase for DOS upgrade contained on the CD, perform the upgrade from your v4 to v4.6. 2. Using the v5.0 DXbase for DOS upgrade contained on the CD, perform the upgrade from v4.6 to v5.0. 3. Using the import utility in v5.0, perform the ADIF export. 4. Using the Non DXB Import utility contained in the DXbase for Windows program group, perform an import of your ADIF file from step 3. All of the files needed are on the CD. There is no import process from the .sdf format of years ago. DXbase 4.0 for DOS is approximately 8 years old and there have been tons of database format changes since then. Thus, it is necessary to make the transition in steps to get current. DXbase for DOS is no longer a product that we offer for sale or support. Call it progress, but the fact of the matter is that DOS is dead... hihi.... The instructions in the help file were less than helpful for me. Can you go direct from the .sdf to 2003 with import? I saw some vague instructions about having to convert to 5.0 before and windows version but the instructions didnt really say what files needed to be run/copied etc......at least not that my brain deciphered. Im using windows 2000 pro will this cause any problems? I dont seem to have the DOS "friendly" environment that existed with win 98. I dont want to bore you all with the steps so you can reply direct.
