Hi Folks,

Well, guess I better say something about this now. Been getting lots of
mail and phone calls and figure it's time to let some of the cat out of the
bag... ( is that ham jargon?)

Yes, DXbase 2004 is complete, tested, and nearly ready for release. We are
getting some CDs ready but for those who prefer downloads, it will be
available as a full download. It will actually be cheaper to just download
it and make your own CD, but based on the survey we did a few months ago,
some folks still want us to produce a CD for them and so we will continue to
make that option available.

We want to take this opportunity to let you know that once again, we have
been privileged to have an outstanding beta test team. These guys show no
mercy and nit pick us to death, but that's what makes a good product better.
We want to thank the beta team for all their hard work and attention to
detail. You will be pleased to know that DXbase 2004 has proven to be rock
solid in the beta test process. Even the occasional and infamous "radio
failed to respond" seems to be eliminated ( unless of course your radio just
doesn't want to talk.. haha).

We hope to be ready for shipment in a week or two. We are making some
updates to our web pages here in-house and will post the new info as soon as
we get all the lose ends nailed.

As I mentioned, DXbase 2004 will be available by download. It incorporates
a new registration process so that when you download the program, it begins
in trial mode and only a demo database can be used. Once registered, it
automatically becomes a fully functional program. The registration consists
of a very small file that can be emailed to you. You simply double click on
the attachment that is sent, and Windows registeration mechanism will record
the necessary registration info on your system. The registration is NOT
hardware dependent, and one registration file can be used on your in-house
machines.

As for features, there are about 45 or 50. Here's a couple. Support for
two rotors. Support for two radios. Support for internal tracking based on
the ARRL's Logbook of the World system. Brand new user interface for the
Label and Report designer module. New variables are available in the
designer. More to come in the days ahead...

Thanks,
Courtney
