Comport Help!
I just loaded Dxbase 2004 and cant get it to work on COM1 with an AEA
PK-88 TNC .
When the TNC is turned on, the packet receive window will show all but
the last line (cmd prompt) sent out by the TNC.
If I cycle the TNC off then on again, I can see the previous (cmd:)
prompt, but after the prompt it has a lower case "y" with a line over
the top..
Send a few <returns> in the vhf packet send window to the TNC, and it
will lock up the DXBase 2004 program. End Task is the only way to get
out of it.
ALL other features in Dxbase that use COM ports have been disabled to
avoid conflicts while troubleshooting.
I've checked and rechecked the COM1 port address, parameters and the TNC
settings.
I've also tried toggling with the Xflow parameters on the TNC.
The TNC parameters are set exactly to what DXBases states they should be
in the packet TNC set up help menu.
I've gone through the Driver set-up utility also.
I have not yet played with IRQ settings. (Don't know if I need to)
These programs work fine with the same set up on the COM1:
"CT" for windows program by K1EA
A very old version of Procomm
HyperTerminal
Computer: Dell 4100 P3-800, 128mB, 1 serial, 1 parallel, 2 USB ports,
WinME (earlier edition)
Tnx for any suggestions:
