You put the callsign in the callsign field, hit enter, and if your =
radio is
connected to the computer it will log the frequency.
Then I put "60 meters" into the Notes field.
=09
I have no knowledge if DXB crew will put out a downloadable update or =
wait
        till next version.

When the LoTW goes live big time.
I believe we will all have to resubmit and do it all over again.
=09
But once that happens, you will only need to update.
        I've experimented with that now.
Using the wizard I now tell it to create the .adi FILE with qso's > =
then the
        last update date.
Sometimes that is 10 qso's, usually less.
It appends the update to your existing qso/qsl list.
=09
I'm pretty sure the system will remain that way. Most logical way of =
doing
        it. Shorter upload times etc.
=09
Now remember, if you have a log with a callsign other than what your
presently using such as I do. WN9VOL, WA9VOL and now W9OL, you must =
submit a
certification and separate log for each callsign.
As my previous callsigns were prior to the 1998 date, I have not been =
able
to submit for a certification or the logs as yet.
=09
So it is important to make sure that the timeframe for qso's and =
Operator
        call are correct.
Wizard will allow you to select qso's based on the operator call.

Subject: [DXBase] can anyone duplicate this problem
=09
While preparing my logs for LoTW I ran into a little problem.
=09
My log previously had W9OL as the Operator Callsign.
As I knew the dates for the start/end of my previous callsigns,
I went to the first date and tried a Search/Replace from the edit =
option.
If I did each replace manually by hitting 'Replace' it worked properly =
and
        went to the next instance.
If I chose, 'Replace All', DXB would crash.
No data was damaged or lost, I just had to restart DXB.
=09
I then tried this with a dummy log file.
If there were just a few number of whatever I chose to replace it would
=
work
properly with the 'Replace All' feature.
If there were a great number of instances, it would crash every time.
=09
This could be complicated by the fact that I have Office 2000 installed
=
on
        this computer.
DXB2004 still uses the ACCESS98 Jet engine I think.
=09
=09
It would be interesting to see if anyone can duplicate this or if it's =
just
        my system.

Is this the same as 'polling the radio'?

=09
        Hi all,
=09
I have been a big fan for years of DX Monitor. It has 3 very neat
features and I am wondering if they are available in the packet portion
        of DXBase.=20
The first is highlighing the time on recent spots (30 Minutes)in one
color (red). The second is highlighting spots that originate within a
user defined radius from the home QTH in Blue. The third is
highlighting calls of a predefined list in red if they show up.
The colors wouldn't matter so long as they could be different than the
        standard black.
=09
These three features allow you at a glance to see what you are likely
        able to hear and work.
=09
I know that DXBase has the ability to do a voice announcement when
spots come in but after turning it on to announc just what I need on
10,15,20,40, and 80, I can't get her to shut up!! I have turned all
the announcements off but she happily announces each spot! A visual
indicator, rather than audio would allow me to turn my speakers back
        on!!

        Don,
=09
You either need a lot of countries, or you have some options set up =
wrong.
Check out options for alerts, vhf and internet spots. Read the help =
file
for a description of what each option means and set accordingly.

The 60 mtr was not around when the latest version of DXbase was =
released.
It is therefore not a supported band at the present. It also is not =
valid
for any awards pending review by the various award sponsers. In order =
to
get the Qs into your log, it will be necessary to pick one of the bands
=
that
you don't use and select that. You can also make a special entry into =
one
of the special fields or one of the user check box entries. This would
=
let
you identify the 60mtr Qs in your log for the time being.

I would encourage Scientific Solutions to develop a patch so that =
DXBase
2004 would handle 60 meters. It is a long time before the next version =
comes
        out.

You put the callsign in the callsign field, hit enter, and if your =
radio is
connected to the computer it will log the frequency.
Then I put "60 meters" into the Notes field.
=09
I have no knowledge if DXB crew will put out a downloadable update or =
wait
        till next version.
