Usually you click on a window to grab focus and they go to View, Styles That's where the different preferences for that particular window are held. Now here's a trick.
When you open a Style, select Standard and click on the CHANGE button. From there you can make the font, size, outline choices. Now here's the important part. After you click OK It takes you back to the Styles window. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON THE LITTLE BOTTOM OPTION TO: Save as default. or you changes won't work.
