Since I installed DX Base 2004 I've occasionally encounter the following
problem -

When making a QSO entry into the Log window the frequency and band fields
incorrectly populated with a frequency of 363416.56 and a band of 75G
rather than the actual values from the rig. Other times it works fine. It
appeared that the only way to get it to correct itself was to exit DX Base
and restart it.

I decided to try to figure out what was causing this and discovered that it
happens whenever I have DX Atlas connected in the DX Info window. If I
disconnect from DX Atlas the problem goes away without restarting DX Base.

I tried installing a later version of DX Atlas but the problem persisted.

My set up is - Pentium 4, Windows XP Home Edition Ver 5.1.2600, NVIDIA
GeForce 4MX 420 video card, Icom 756 Pro connected via the mother board on
COM 1.

The problem did not exist when I was using DX Base 2003 with my existing
set up.

My guess is that some how DX Atlas is steeling the memory location that DX
Base uses to get the rig interface info. I can't imagine how that would
happen unless the is a problem with Windows XP or one of the 2 programs is
using some part of memory that it should not be using.

Has anyone seen a similar behavior? Any ideas of what may be causing this
or how I should go about troubleshooting?

Tnx
