Peter,
try setting your radio to the Elecraft K2, the K2 file started off life
the same as the ts570 and exhibited this exact behavior. If the K2 file
doesn't do this I may be able to suggest a couple of changes to the
radios.ini file entry for the TS570
Dxbase selects vfos before reading them, some radios need this in Kenwood
protocol ( which the K2 uses) this also clears split since spilt is
controlled by selecting one or both VFO's accordingly.
I suspect some other kenwood radios also exhibit this behavior
