I think you have the process confused.
The Select Database and Field Layout is asking for a .CO file.
.CO files are the files that determine in what order and which fields are shown
in the
main log or Previous QSO windows.

If you wish to create a special Field Order CO file, you must Have DXBase
closed, go to
the DXBase Programs Group and select: Field Order.

This will open a Program that allows you to select the order of the fields in
the log, and
which fields to 'hide'.
After you complete this process, you will Name it and save it to the DXBase
directory.
Something distinctive, I suggest.

Now when you start DXBase, and get the opening window, you will select this NEW
.CO file
as the choice in the "QSO Log Field Layout".

If this windows does not appear when first starting DXBase, you must start it
with the
default files and go to Tools, Options, User Options, General Tab, and put a
check mark
into the Database and Field Order option of Prompts at Startup.
Close DXBase and restart and now choose your new Field Order .CO file.

Good luck.
