Dale and Jack, Thanks for your replies. I'm using the 9-pin serial port on my laptop, which is setup for COM1 and I followed the instructions in the WinKey manual which calls for 1200 baud, no parity and "1.5 to 2 stop bits." I also tried 1 stop bit as suggested by Dale. This serial port worked fine on COM1 for rig control with DXBASE.
I did a continuity check on my serial cable and checked the 5 volt regulator (U1 on the WinKey). It measures 5.03 volts when plugged into the computer. I followed the directions in DXBASE 2005 for setting up the WinKey on COM1. I just keep getting the message: "Unable to open <K1EL CW> ComPort" I sent an e-mail to Steve, K1EL, as I really don't know what else to try. 73, Chuck NI0C From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jun 24 18:29:03 2004 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Bob Main) Date: Thu Jun 24 18:38:03 2004 Subject: [Dxbase] LoTW Upload Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> What are the accepted modes? I just uploaded one and I had two BPSK QSOs that I got errors on. Just wondering. When you create an ADIF file it asks if you want to mark the QSLs column as LoTW and you select "Yes". Why doesn't it also put that day's date in the "Sent" column? Of course if you send a card it will put that date in the Sent column. LoTW supports the emission modes allowed by the ADIF specification with the exception of "ASCI" (ASCII is a character set, not an emission mode). Each mode is mapped into a MODE GROUP for purposes of matching QSOs. The modes currently allowed by LoTW are: ModeMode Group CWCW PHONEPHONE IMAGEIMAGE DATADATA AMPHONE FMPHONE SSBPHONE ATVIMAGE FAXIMAGE SSTVIMAGE AMTORDATA CLOVERDATA FSK31DATA GTORDATA HELLDATA HFSKDATA MFSK16DATA MFSK8DATA MINIRTTYDATA MT63DATA PACKETDATA PACTORDATA PSK125DATA PSK31DATA PSK63DATA Q15DATA RTTYDATA THROBDATA Note that the TQSL program can map the modes in an ADIF log file that aren't valid to modes that are valid via the File menu Preferences command (use the ADIF Modes tab). Seems, to me, that since it does ask if you want to mark the QSLS column as LoTW that it would automatically put the date in for you too. It will when you create cards.
