Don't know what to tell you Tim.
I'm also running XP with a gig, DXB2005 and DXAtlas 2.24 on a 20"LCD at 
1280x1024, 32bit 
Highest color
I have my log window font at Arial, Bold, 10pt.
The font color is sort of a brownish red.


No crashes, and each time I open DXB, these settings return.


So my first guess, is a video driver. But it's just a guess.
