Yes on all accounts IF You have the Alerts user option set to "Individual Mode and Band" I have never used any other setting so I don't know about the other option for the alerts.

I would like to see the answers to each of the cases. I filled in the answers to the first two which are easy. Case one: The user has BY confirmed on 15 meter SSB and nowhere else. A BY spot comes in on, 15 CW Is an alert generated or not? 17 CW Is an Alert is generated or not? 17 SSB Is an Alert is generated or not? Case two: The user has BY confirmed on 15 meter SSB and 20 CW and nowhere else. A BY spot comes in on, 15 CW Is an Alert is generated or not? 17 CW Is an Alert is generated or not? >From the help text. ======================================================================= Global Category Filter This option identifies the logic that will be used to determine if you need the country when a DX spot is received. The option set under Global QSL Filter is also applied to the final determination if you should receive an alert notification. Disable All Alerts - This option turns off all alerts of whether or not you need the DX spot. Case 1: no, no, no. Case 2: no, no. Alert All - This option results in all DX spots being categorized as needed. Case 1: yes, yes, yes. Case 2: yes, yes. All Band Mixed Mode - This option is the most general. Upon receipt of a DX spot, DXbase will check to see if you need this country on any band and any mode. If you have a QSO for this band and mode, then no alert will be made. Case 1: Case 2: Mixed Mode Separate Band - This option checks the specific band of the DX spot on any mode to determine if you need this country on any mode for the specific band. Case 1: Case 2: Mixed Band Separate Mode - This option checks the specific mode of the DX spot on any band to determine if you need this country on any band for the specific mode. Case 1: Case 2: Individual Mode and Band - This option provides the most detailed and specific logic. Upon receipt of a DX spot, DXbase will check both the mode and the band of the DX spot and determine if you need this country for the specific band and mode of the station. Case 1: Case 2: New Mode or New Band - This option provides a multiple lookup which first checks to see if the DX spot is an all time new mode for this country. Then it checks if the country is on a new band. If either condition is true then an alert will be generated. Case 1: Case 2: Copyright ?1999 - 2004 Scientific Solutions, Inc. ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected]
