Jim
I'll go ahead and put this on the reflector in case someone else is
interested.
As you can see I don't let windows hide DXB2005 way out of sight
where
it's hard to find when doing the setup. I also run my BACKUP for DXB2005
in it's own folder which I then copy to a CD-RW for safe keeping. I use
another batch file to copy to my CD-RW. I made a shortcut for both batch
files so all I have to do is click on one or the other to do my backups.
If you get a corrupted Dxb2005.ini you have one to copy into
C:\Windows.
Just use Windows Explorer to copy it to windows.
The first batch file copies my DXB2005 files to a folder on my hard drive.
Here's the batch file which I run as C:\BU2005.bat
C:
copy C:\DXB2005\*.mdb C:RADIO_PGMS\2005BU
copy C:\DXB2005\*.ini C:RADIO_PGMS\2005BU
copy C:\DXB2005\*.wcf C:RADIO_PGMS\2005BU
copy C:\DXB2005\*.co C:RADIO_PGMS\2005BU
copy C:\Windows\Dxb2005.ini C:\RADIO_PGMS\2005BU
rem Dxb2005.ini belongs in C:\Windows
rem NOT in C:\DXB2005
The second batch file copies my BACKUP folder on my hard drive to a
RE-WRITABLE CD on my E drive.
Here's the batch file I run as C:\2005BU2.bat
copy C:\Radio_Pgms\2005BU\ E:\2005BU
rem Copies 2005BU to INCD disk in E: drive
The RW drive I have (LG is the brand name) uses a software called
InCD that is a part of NERO BURNING. It allows you to use the CDRW
like a VERY LARGE floppy. You can use a regular CD but you have to
change the Read Only Attribute in DXB2005 on the files after they are
copied to your hard drive.
Yep - I know DOS is outdated but it still works - even in Win XP
