When I got my IC-756PROII I learned that it didn't handle split frequency DX spots as my Yaesu had done. Even though a DX spot had a "QSX frequency" in the comments field DXbase would not change the frequency of the second VFO. Likewise, I didn't see my transmit frequency in the DXbase notes field, and my DX spots for stations operating split didn't show the QSX frequency because the program couldn't read the second VFO.
Then I bought N4PY's control program (http://www.ralabs.com/n4py/), and the problem was solved. I specified a Pegasus to DXbase, as required by N4PY, and the split frequencies work OK in DXbase. As I remember, it doesn't recognize "Up 5" or whatever in the comments field of a received spot, but it works fine otherwise. Jim N7US
