Since I am using WinKey in the microHam Keyer/USB interface box pin 5 is 
configured.  In the interface I had PTT off but DXBase turns in back on.  As 
you suggested choosing 'tone" takes care of DXBase and I get QSK fine that 
way.  However one other minor annoyance is that DXBase still turns on the 
relay to QSK amp.  Since I don't use an amp I don't need that but I do get 
the relay noise.  A very minor inconvenience that I can fix by initializing 
the interface software after loading DXBase.  BTW that microHam Keyer 
interface is great!

I've also had very little time in the shack lately and haven't read through 
the microHam or WinKey manuals for a solution to this.
