Bill, All
Thanks to Bill for mentioning the "set point/restore" feature in XP, I had
never had reason to use it before.
I had some spare time this morning. By going back in time steps I have got
my DXBase and PC working fine again, and then quickly made a new set point!
I had tried reinstalling DXB but that made no difference
