New guys like me are going to drive you nuts with questions . . . If logging for the "XYZ Contest" for which there are awards. You'd need to create a new award scheme in DXBase. So should you mark those contacts in one of the field columns like SPECIAL-1 or SPECIAL-2 or NOTES?
1. Which column was found to be the best to use? 2. How can these columns be FILTERED in the Award Output section? I can't get this to work by simply entering the exact text of the column into the filter input box. Must some other item be checked off in the Award Output? It wont work the way I'm doing it. 3. I want to enter my old QSOs from various operating events (1994FieldDay, 1998CWDXcontest, 2003SKN(straight key night) etc. etc. etc. So can tghat be placed in one of these columns and be able to filtered to do a report? PROBLEM: How to use DXBase to log multiple operating locations within one master log, retain them for your awards, and be able to submit multiple locations to LoTW. SOLUTION????: Log everything in one master log. Use NOTES COLUMN to indicate your QTH location ( NY, PA, ME, Novice, Other Call Signs, etc). To upload a specific unique location log to LoTW do the following: [1] create a duplicate of the master log [2] from that duplicate log delete all contacts except the ones desired [3] export the .adf file from that [4] upload the .adf file to LoTW [5] delete the duplicated master log Not being familar with all this and never have used DxBase or LoTW, I'm not sure this will work or if there will be any pitfalls? Thanks, Ron K3SEW From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 20 11:59:39 2005 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (George K3GP) Date: Sun Nov 20 12:06:41 2005 Subject: [Dxbase] Multiple Op Locations Logging Problem In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> K3SEW wrote: > Will this work? > > PROBLEM: > How to use DXBase to log multiple operating locations within one master log, > retain them for your awards, and be able to submit multiple locations to > LoTW. > > SOLUTION????: > Log everything in one master log. That's how I handled my combined log with several callsigns and several QTH's for each callsign. -- 333-3333, George K3GP Web Site: http://k3gp.com
