  I didn't follow the rest of this thread very carefully, so forgive me if
this has already been mentioned.

Although importing this information into your "master" log may be desirable
for the history of who you have worked before, one thing to take into
consideration is what awards you are tracking, or may wish to track in the
future with DXBase.   If you are tracking DXCC, but operating from another
DXCC entity, you may not want to include those QSO's in the same log
database unless you somehow flag them so that they won't be included in your
main DXCC award selection.    Any other awards where your operating location
is significant, WAS, VUCC, etc would also fall into that category.    If you
were operating from another DXCC entity, you could have Jack add that
callsign to your license key for that entity.   Otherwise you may have to
add some consistent, unique entry to one of the "special" fields.    You
could then use the selection wizard to only select the desired QSO's.
Anyway, before you combine the logs, you may want to take these issues into
consideration.
