I have stubbornly continued to use DXBase 2000 because I didn't feel any
subsequent versions offered any features I need and also from a purely
economic stance.

Recently, however, I have found that the program's countries database no
longer seems to recognize new band countries that I occasionally manage to
work.

I have edited the database files according to instructions that I've
followed forever (I've been using the logging software since it was
introduced). On a rare occasion, it has recognized my additions but on the
next computer boot-up the changes disappear.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?

Since DXBase no longer supports this version, I wonder how difficult it
would be to upgrade (assuming I can afford it) to a 2006 version with a
whole bunch of features that hold no interest for me.
