Ben, What you are seeing in 2007 is what was programmed. here are the words from the 2007 DXb2knts.txt file that comes with 2007:
Modified the Previous QSO module so that partial lookups for callsign, special-1, and special-2 fields will be performed. For example, entering AA4 will return all records containing AA4.
