I seem to have had a power bump this afternoon and my DXbase was open. I didn't realize it because it was so quick my clocks were not affected. When I made a log entry this evening I tried to add the island number for IOTA and got an error message. So now I have a backup of my .mdb and .ref files up to Feb.10 and perhaps 50-60 QSOs since then. I am unable to initialize the files and I cannot locate the CD onto which I loaded the 2006 program. Also, in the last few weeks, since I added a new monitor and now feed my old monitor for hamming, every time I close and re-open the computer and DXbase, I have to reset all the icons and the log format.
Anyone got any suggestions? WPX is coming up and I want to be in it with a working logging program. 73 Al, VE1AL From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Mar 18 17:34:10 2008 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Jack) Date: Tue Mar 18 17:38:07 2008 Subject: [Dxbase] problem with DXB2006 References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Alan, I don't know what you mean when you say, " unable to initialize files"? What happens? My guess is that you select the "initialize tables" routine from the main DXbase menu and you get some kind of a error indication about statistics? If that is true, then you probably have a corrupted statistics table in your database .mdb file. To correct this condition, refer to the help file under the contents tab for "error messages", "entry not found in numeric statistics". Essentially you'll be creating a new empty QSO database, then using DXB Import, you'll import the data from your old .mdb into the newly created one. Afterwards, you'll use the new one and discard the old one and you'll intialize tables to get your statistics back.
