Hi All I have been using "Autosave" for years
It automatically updates the backup with each save of the files. Selectable number of previous versions. You can select which file types to backup. Totally automatic, with a laptop when you are "away" it remembers what it needs to do and when you reconnect the USB drive it catches up. Not expensive and has saved my "life" a few times, once with DXbase It is sold on the web http://www.v-com.com/product/AutoSave_Home.html 73 Fred G4BWP ----- Original Message ----- From: "RICHARD SOLOMON" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 11:46 PM Subject: RE: [Dxbase] Database backups I bought a 300 GB external drive and use a program called Acronis to periodically back up the entire hard drive. Takes about half an hour (I have lots of "stuff" on the drive). 73, Dick, W1KSZ > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected]> Subject: Re: [Dxbase] > Database backups> Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 15:35:10 -0400> > great reminder, > also applies to all your other software on your drive, > thanks for > reminding me> > VE3WEJ> Dave Garber> > 10-X # 23465> echolink # 52852> > irlp node 2202> email [EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- Original Message ----- > From: > "Jack" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>> To: <[email protected]>> Sent: Monday, > March 31, 2008 2:43 PM> Subject: [Dxbase] Database backups> > > > Folks,> > >> >>From time to time, we seem to get covered up with a rash of emails > which > >>all> > go something like, "my computer crashed and I can't find > my registration > > file, or my old DXbase software for installation".> >> > > Also, from time to time, we have posted reminders here on the reflector > > > stressing the importance of having the DXbase software and > registration > > safeguarded.
