Well, that worked! Who would have assumed the solution was a Vista issue?
Thanks, Neal, all ok now.

George

See this note from microsoft:
http://www.vistax64.com/network-internet/181728-no-mapping-between-account-n
ames-security-ids-done-0x80070534.html

Also, are you using a laptop that is part of a corporate network? If you
have a laptop that has security policies governed by a Windows Server 2003
you might need to apply a hot fix.

Please let me know if this helps.

OK, I'm trying to install DXbase 2007 on a new laptop, running XP Pro SP3
(same as this laptop). I have the 2007 zip file and my 2007 registration
file. I unzipped the program files. When I try to launch the program, I
get the DXbase 2007 title window underneath this error window:

"An installation support file could not be installed.
No mapping between account names and security ID's was done."

Neal, Joe--any idea why this isn't working?

To all DXbase2007 users,

For those DXbase2007 users, who ALREADY have their
"2007 Registration file" -- I have placed a LINK
on my Ham Radio website - for the ZIP file that has
been on my website since Dxbase2007 was available.

The LINK to the website is:

http://www.navycthistory.com/wa6axe/selection.html

The VERY TOP LINK is the one for the BIG ZIP file
that contains the DXbase2007 files.

Again - this is ONLY useful to anyone who has NOT
made a COPY of the original DXbase2007 program file
-- and -- you already have your 2007 Registration File.

This permanent LINK, at my own website,
will augment what Ron N5IN's email state a few minutes ago.

PSE use this opportunity to MAKE a copy of the 2007 program
for your peace-of-mind!!
