I used 9600,m,8,1 first the rig did not work with any software using those settings. I finally got it working perfect with Writelog and Ham Radio Deluxe by changing to 19200, n,8,2 ... I have gone back to your suggested settings several times and it's still not working.
I also have verified the rig and the software at address=0X58. I actually had to manually change the ini file in Writelog to this address to make it work. My version only has the original 706's setting so I had to update it to the MKIIg setting. I am normally pretty good at these things but this one has me after 5 hrs of changing combinations of settings... I have a Yaesu and a Kenwood both working in DxBase and I have verified all of the check boxes like "read from radio" etc... The software hesitates before moving fields when you hit enter so it's trying to read the rig but just can't complete it? THANKS....
