Subject: [Dxbase] PJ Update Yourself...
It's really not that difficult to do the updates.
1. Go to Tools, Database Access, Country Prefixes
2. Right click on 1A in the first column and then click on last record.
That will take you to the first line of entry just below ZS9 - Walvis Bay
3. Now add a line for PJ2C, Curacao, lat is +12.2, long is +69.0 ,
check field check, check bureau, CQ 09, ITU 11, ARRL ID is 517, Continent SA
and TZDIFF = -0400
4. Click down a row which will save PJ2C and then add the next entry.
a. PJ4, Bonaire, lat +12.2, long +68.3, check field check, check
bureau, CQ 09, ITU 11, ARRL ID is 520, Continent SA, TZDIFF = -0400, then
click down a row and add the next entry.
b. PJ5, St. Eustatius & Saba, lat +17.3, long 63.1, check field check,
check bureau, CQ 08, ITU 11, ARRL ID is 519, Continent NA, TZDIFF = -0400,
then click down a row and add the next entry.
c. PJ7M, Sint Maarten, lat +18.1, long +63.1, check field check, check
bureau, CQ 08, ITU 11, ARRL ID is 518, Continent NA, TZDIFF -0400, click
down a row to save the PJ7M entry
5. Now exit the Database by clicking the X in the upper right
6. Now open it again.tools, database access, country prefixes
7. Click on the last tab (alias map)
8. Put your cursor on 1A in the first column and right click.then click
on "find"..in the drop down window type PJ and hit enter.
9. This will take you to the first PJ entry in your alias mapping.
10. I will use my own data base as an example.my first entry is PJ0.so I
click in the PJ0 row in the primary prefix column and move to the second
column and change the prefix from PJ2 to PJ2C, then click in the "Old 1 Pfx"
column and enter PJ2, then click in the "Old 1 Date" column and enter
10-09-2010. (note you may have to adjust column width to see the "C" in
PJ2C)
11. Continue down through all the PJ prefixes in the first (lefthand
column).put PJ2C in where it says PJ2 in the second column, and put PJ2 in
the old 1 pfx and 10-09-2010 in the old 1 date column. Put PJ7M in where it
says PJ7 in the second column and put PJ7 in the old 1 pfx and 10-09-2010 in
the old 1 date column. Do for all rows that have a PJ prefix except for the
lines that start with PJ4, PJ5 or PJ6.
a. In the PJ4 line you replace PJ2 with PJ4 and put PJ2 in for old 1
pfx and 10-09-2010 for the old 1 date
b. In the PJ5 line you replace PJ7 with PJ5 and put PJ7 in for old 1
pfx and 10-09 2010 for the old 1 date
c. Also in the PJ6 line you replace PJ7 with PJ5 and put PJ7 in for old
1 pfx and 10-09 2010 for the old 1 date
(Yes, PJ5 and PJ6 get mapped to PJ5)
Be sure to click down one row when you have made the last
change to save the last one you did.
Close the prefix database, initialize tables and you're good
to go.
Note that the new entites were not "new" until 0400Z on Oct
10. If you're just doing this update, you will have to go into your log and
manually change the prefixes of any PJ station that you worked after 0400Z
on 10-10-2010 to the correct prefix. Anything you work after you do the
update should then be mapped correctly. (After you do the manual changes,
you will have to initialize tables again - If you've done it correctly, when
you show your dxcc totals without deleted countries, you should see total
possible of 340.)
