Is your grandson logging into the same log file you use? could the 'unauthorized call' mean that both you AND your grandson's calls are included in the 'REG File' that you run when you set up the log?
I had my 3 calls, and a bunch of calls for the stations I served as qsl manager for. Reg Files had a maximum of 7? callsigns so I had to switch back and forth between 'Reg Files' when uploading new logs from the stations I managed.
