Joe,

thank you!

I do run the DXbase "as administrator" but the problem was in "set home"
coordinates stored in DX-Atlas tab of DX Info window: I did it in degrees
and minutes while it must be in decimal format. Now everything is fine, I'm
"back home".

When you setup DXbase2007 v1.09 -- you must also make sure that you setup
the
filename of dxb2007.exe (right click on filename and select Properties -
then select the
Compatability TAB - make a CHECKMARK next to "Run As Administrator" ...

DXAtlas derives the Lat and Lon from SETHome (Home QTH) from your
dxb2007.ini
file -- in the windows directory ---

It SURE sounds like you did not install dxbase2007 ver 1.09 properly to make
sure
that it would be able to READ and WRITE to the dxb2007.ini file ...

I have DXbase2007 ver 1.09 and the latest DXAtlas 2.3 on my Laptop (Windows7
64 bit)
and when DXbase2007 ver 1.09 IS SETUP PROPERLY -- DXatlas runs like a charm
...

Check your setup on DXbase2007 ver 1.09

Subject: [Dxbase] DXAtlas/DXBase "home pin" issue

After moving to the new machine with Win7 64 bit my DXAtlas (both older and
last versions) does not keep the "home QTH" pin at the place where I'm
pointing it: after every re-start it moves to...E4. I'm lucky that no one
saw it...
After many e-mails with Alex from DXAtlas and deleting the dxatlas.ini file
I can open/close the Atlas standalone, everything is fine in this case, but
while opening it from DXbase (2007/ V1.09) the same scenario occurs: the
"home pin" (placed anywhere on the globe) moves to E4. Despite the pin
relocated inside same KM71 square (not middle of the square or something
logical) it is quite far from where it should be.
I tried to change the coordinates and/or grid square in DXBase "User
Options" with no result. The Alex's diagnosis was that Atlas takes the data
somewhere from DXbase being opened from inside it.
 I will appreciate any thoughts.
