Terry Granted that it the instructions are mainly for Win7 but you then say that they are very confusing. What is confusing about the instructions (or did not not read them after determining they weren't really meant for XP)?
I honestly don't know how to make this less confusing, so I would appreciate your basis for the comment. 73 Neal -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Monday, May 21, 2012 6:27 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Dxbase] Installing V1.10 Since I had some free time I thought I'd install V1.10, I have 1.09 running fine and I don't use a CDROM. My system is XP and when I downloaded the install information it all seems to be for WIN 7 and is very confusing. I have all the country data up to date. So wouldn't I just be better off running my 1.09 until DXbase 2012 or 2013 or what ever finally comes out? Lets see, we have been running DXbase 2007 for what, 5 or 6 years? Why not just call the next real upgrade DXbase and have it show a version number. I wouldn't mind seeing Windows data files scraped and plain old data files used, I think it would be a lot faster and a lot less headaches with less maintenance. Oh well, when all you need is P5 and BV9 for all countries and a few more conformations on 30 meters to complete 9 band DXCC I guess it's really not that big a deal.
