OK here is what I learned from Joe AXE...
First: use the DXB Utility DATABASE tab to COMPACT your database. Mine showed over 200MB and when compacted it was 5MB!!! Then Joe applied his utility (http://www.navycthistory.com/wa6axe/2007chkmdbs.html) to my mdb file and updated all of the prefixes in my version. While he was at it, he found a problem I didn't know I had with my refdata file and fixed that too. I dragged and dropped the new files into the Scientific Solutions DXB2007 Program Files directory, clicked move and replace for each of my MDB file and my REFDATA file, booted DXBase 2007 and then reinitialized tables. All is now great - actually better than before my Desktop crashed. I have backed up the known good MDB and REFDATA as of today. MAN we are lucky to have someone like Joe who actually LIKES to take a computer illiterate like me and work me through the solution to my problem. I'm going to buy his dinner for ALL OF US!
73 and see you in the pileups!
