While I am sorry that we lose you from our community I think this type of advertisement for a competing product on this reflector is below the dignity that your previous service to the ham community has shown.

Subject: [dxbase] DXbase2007 and HRD

As I reported a few days ago, at the AL ARRL convention in Huntsville recently, HRD (W4PC et al) had a large sales/demo booth where I purchased the program as a replacement for my DxBase2007 which has never had a major update since Jack sold the company in 2009. Of course the new owner in his announcement of his purchase stated “2010 version” will be available “I guaranteed.” Of course, as he has explained as nausea it is now late 2103 and the new version has never appeared.

Being tired of waiting, I purchased HRD 6.1. I did have concern about how to get my 16,000 QSs INTO HRD. The HRD support staff came thru beautifily in the last several days and EXPORTED all my data using ADIF into HRD. It now agrees with LOTW almost perfectly, was painless on my part. So, If any DxBase user has the same concerns as did I, be assured Mike, Tim and Rich now have the experience of ‘cleaning up’ my DxBase2007 log under my 2 different call signs and getting all the stored info into HRD. I’m NOT a computer expert, but they are and they can help you make the move if you are of a mind and, like me, think that 4 years is too long to wait for broken promises regardless of the mitigating factors.

HRD team has plans to attend many major Hamfest with a booth and demo. I am told they will next be at Pacificon in San Jose, Cal.
