True, CQ does count Kosovo as a country multiplier for their awards (if I were a betting man, I would bet that is why Marty (Z68BH) was so "popular" in the CQ SSB World Wide this past weekend).
Unfortunately, Kosovo is neither a UN member or has it been assigned an official ITU prefix. Until either happen, it is in limbo; hopefully (if and when either of the prior occur), the ARRL will "backdate" the contacts many of us have made. Dick (W1KSZ) may well be right in the ARRL will only count contacts after the "official date" of recognition. Only time will tell; so WFWL!! Obviously, everything is in a state of limbo, and that causes problems in logging contacts! The solution I gave is the easiest; one could into the DXBase database, open country prefixes, and add Kosovo to it. Add Z6 as the prefix, country as Kosovo, and use the same Lat/Lon, CQ zone, ITU zone, Continent, and TZDIFF as Serbia. One would have to leave the ARRL-ID blank and maybe mark it as Deleted. Obviously it would be a "bogus" country showing up in the country list. Am sure everyone knows the same "issues" exist with T10VB (Transnistria) that Vladimir (UA4WHX) "activated" in early Sept. It doesn't count for anything, so log the call to ER and uncheck the Mixed and Mode boxes in the VALID column. But, it will not count for DXCC until it gets listed on the DXCC Country list, and then only for Q's made on that date or later. 73, Dick, W1KSZ On Mon, Oct 28, 2013 at 8:30 AM, Dick WIlliams <[email protected]>wrote: > Yes, > > Kosovo does not count for anything (at least not yet).
