I wanted to make DXbase2007 ver 1.10 mess-up by deleting
certain files -- to see what the program would be missing, if
your computer shutdown on it's own and caused a file or
files to become corrupted.
(1) If you are missing the SUMMARY WINDOW vertical and
horizontal lines and all of the info that would be there
SVIEWHF.HGT file and SVIEWHF.WID file might have been
corrupted.
REMEDY: Delete the EXISTING two files and bring back your
SAVED copy of the files.. IF you did not save them, just delete
the two files and open DXbase2007 -- the program will let you
know there is a problem -- clear the warning -- then CLOSE DXbase2007.
There NOW will be two files written (defaulted) by DXbase2007.
OPEN DXbase2007 again, and now go to the Summary Window
and you will simply have to ADJUST the vertical and horizontal lines.
(2) DX Info window lost it's mind!
PKTMSG.WID file and PKTNL.WID file might have been corrupted.
OPEN DXbase2007 again, and now go to the DX Info Window
and you will simply have to ADJUST the window to your wishes.
(3) QSO LOG window -- lost all my log .... but, the mdb file is still there.
Your COLUMN ORDER File (either named Default.co or MyCols.co) might have
been corrupted.
REMEDY: Delete the EXISTING file you were USING and bring back your
SAVED copy of the file.. IF you did not save them, just delete
the file and open DXbase2007 -- the program will let you
know there is a problem -- clear the warning -- then CLOSE DXbase2007.
There NOW will be a DEFAULT.CO file written by DXbase2007.
OPEN DXbase2007 again, and now your QSO LOG Window will show
data -- using the DEFAULTED setting.
(4) I see ALL of the above as a problem ... delete all of the files noted
above
and bring back the saved files!!!! Or if no saved files .. Delete the
corrupted
files and let DXbase2007 make the defaulted files.
BEST bet!! ---- SAVE the following files:
>From the DXbase2007 directory:
Default.co
MyCols.co
GL.WID
PKTMSG.WID
PKTNL.WID
SVIEWHF.HGT
SVIEWHF.WID
Myprvqso.CO
YOUR Logbook mdb file
Refdata.mdb file
>From the Windows directory:
Dxb2007.ini
Just FYI.
