It sounds like you are not successfully connecting to the rig. Go to the
Tools menu and select the Set HF Frequency menu item. When that window
opens, click on the Retrieve button. If you do not shortly see your rig
frequency appear in the VFOa and VFOb boxes, you are not connected to the
radio.
