All who are running Windows 8.1/64 bit and DXbase2007: Earl N5ZM has found the cure for Windows 8.1/64bit Winhlp32.exe being a small (10KB)filesize and deleting KB917607 from the Windows Updates -- then downloading the proper sized Winhlp32.exe file DOES NOT work at all.
Earl researched the Knowledge Base at microsoft and found that the recent KB3000850 Windows Update was the probable culprit. Tonight, Earl deleted the KB917607 update and also the KB3000850 update (took a lengthy amount of time!!) - and then he downloaded the proper KB917607 (Winhlp32.exe) file. The downloaded filesize was NOW 279KB!!!! Earl can now read the Help Files of DXbase2007 ALL OK!!
