I'm using my laptop from work to run DXBase while I'm deployed on a field project (it's a meteorological research project called PECAN and you can see more about it at PECAN: Plains Elevated Convection at Night). I've hauled along a rig and have strung an antenna from my apartment that seems to work. I've set up DXBase (Windows 7 64, DXBase v1.10) and all seems well until I try to connect to an internet packet cluster, when I get a "Packet Comm Mgr initialization failed" message. I'm connected to the internet and can go pretty much anyplace I want. I know I've seen mentoion of this before but I didn't have any luck with a Google search and I have all my email archived at home. What have I not set up right? 73, Kim Elmore N5OP | | | | | | | | | | | PECAN: Plains Elevated Convection at NightPECAN is a large, intensive field project designed to study poorly understood nighttime thunderstorms in the Great Plains that pose a public safety risk from floodi... | | | | View on www.nssl.noaa.gov | Preview by Yahoo | | | | |
