********************************************************************* * Release 5.0.1 of the MRNet Multicast/Reduction OverlayNetwork * *********************************************************************
The new 5.0.1 release of MRNet is now available. This release of MRNet includes a source distribution for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms, plus pre-built binaries for Windows. The release also includes associated manuals. Improvements made to MRNet since version 5.0 have been incorporated into version 5.0.1. MRNet is a customizable, high-performance software infrastructure for building scalable tools and applications. It supports efficient multicast and data aggregation functionality using a tree of processes between the tool's front-end and back-ends. MRNet-based tools may use these internal processes to distribute many important tool activities, for example to reduce data analysis time and keep tool front-end loads manageable. Technical papers about MRNet can be found in the 'Middleware' section at: http://www.paradyn.org/html/publications-by-category.html The new features and fixes include: * Fixed hanging issues with loading of filter functions. * Lightweight lowfat library should now produce shared object libraries which do not include hard links to dependency libraries. * Build system fixes when cross compiling MRNet for other architectures * Lightweight infrastructure-bootstrapping infrastructure (LIBI) header dependencies within MRNet removed. * Numerous additional bug related fixes More information about MRNet, including downloads for binary and source, can be found at: http://www.paradyn.org/mrnet MRNet is designed to be a highly-portable system. The source code has been compiled using both GNU GCC and native platform compilers. We have successfully tested MRNet components on the following platforms: - Linux : x86, x86_64, powerpc64, Cray XT, ARM64 - Windows : x86, x86_64 _______________________________________________ Dyninst-api mailing list Dyninst-api@cs.wisc.edu https://lists.cs.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/dyninst-api
