I just talked with a bank yesterday and they said another bank can get the money back from a fraudulent check up to 1 year later. I have not verified this though. I used to think once a deposited check cleared (max 7 days) the money was "in my bank". Not so. I asked a few banks (Wells Fargo, which has a fairly strong online presence) if they had an easy (electronic) method for me to see when a deposited check clears. "Sorry, call the issuing bank or wait for your statement." Lame How has 'business' made it this far with such a screwed up system (aside from the vast majority of people being honest)??? Despite growing pains, e-gold is fantastic, especially for merchants! > Michael Moore wrote: > > Hi Can anyone tell me if the following is true. > > US banks by law can recind cheques once cleared within 7 years and > there is no come back on the bank. > > In other words if you cash a cheque the originating bank of that > cheque can during the time up to 7 years reverse that cheque and > demand the funds back? > > I need to know as soon as someone can be kind enough to let me know. > > Much thanks in advance. > Kind regards, > > Michael Moore > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://www.gold-today.com > Sign up with e-gold today and get gramms of e-gold here. > https://www.e-gold.com/newacct/newaccount.asp?cid=129542 > --- > You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To unsubscribe send a blank email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
