Fans of _The Simpsons_ may be reminded of the episode where Lisa does a
science fair experiment called "Is My Brother Dumber Than a Rat?" She tries
to see if Bart will stop trying to pick up something (I think it was a
doughnut) if he gets an electrical shock every time he touches it, but no
matter how many times he gets shocked he immediately tries again: "Ow! It
hurts when I do that. Ow! It hurts when I do that. Ow! It hurts when I do
that. Ow! It hurts when I do that..."
I think of that every time I see a new pyramid scheme and hear one of the
suckers explaining that _this_time_ it's different.
