About the recent comments about the failure of online lotteries, I can
give you two examples of INCREDIBLY successful lotteries:
www.freelotto.com and www.fun-lotto.com There are of course many more.

I think only the lotteries/raffles where you have to pay for your
bet/ticket are the ones which fail. BTW, I recently read that is illegal
in the U.S. to make a paid raffle or lottery. It can be maintained by
advertising, but you can't charge for the ticket (I guess it depends on
the state; I don't live in the US, but my sites are hosted there).

When people exited GoldenRaffle.com, a pop-up window asked "If you didn't
place your bet, please explain me why", and these are some of the answers
I got:

"Doesn't look to promising":
I guess it's because of the amount of players and the uncertainty about
when it was going to close. I hope it wasn't because of the site's
appearance!

"I don't want to gamble and loose my gold.":
Seems few people like to spend money in something that is not sure to
return any benefits.

So, I'm thinking about relaunching my Golden Raffle site, with the
following changes:

(1) 100 players/bets instead of 1000. The prize would be lower, but the
wait would also be lesser and the probability of winning would be 10 times
higher. Anyone has suggestions about the prize amount?

(2) Instead of paying for the bet, you would have to visit some sponsor
sites. Anyone has suggestions about the number of sites that bettors would
be willing to visit?

(3) The raffle would close at the end of the month. If the 100 bets goal
wasn't reached, the percentage corresponding to the prize would be donated
to charity (To any charity accepting e-gold).

The BIG problem is getting the sponsors. How do online lotteries get
advertisers when they start up? Do they pay to get sponsors? Could someone
in the gaming industry please answer this question?

And finally: If there is the 1/100 possibility of winning some prize (For
example, 40 AUG), how many of you would be willing to place a bet for
free?

I keep waiting for your suggestions, ideas, comments, etc.

Thanks in advance...
