Consider this,

Mr. D makes some excellent points below (three, in fact), as to why
e-gold is 99% hyips:

>That said, I hope you understand my dilemma here. I am looking at what
>appears to be some very concrete evidence of robust HYIP activity in the
>e-gold world:

>o 9% of e-gold's accounts belong to onetime members of a *single* HYIP
>(E-Biz, with its SEC-certified 22,000 members)

>o 7% of the e-gold in circulation belongs to a *single* HYIP (CostaGold,
>with its publicly viewable $1 million)

>o Over 300 schemes offering guaranteed high-yield returns on e-gold
>investments can be found on Yahoo Groups alone

However, I have been looking at the daily spends BREAKDOWN lately.
Thank goodness e-gold supplies them! They are presented easily on
the bamdex ticker, just rollover for the breakdown.

the short version ..

(*) 3500 spends a day under ten bucks

(*) 2500 spends a day ten to a hundred bucks

(*) 1000 spends a day over 100 bucks

Who here is familiar with HYIPs and programs?

I can imagine the UNDER TEN BUCK spends being related to hyips.

But, would there be TWENTY FIVE HUNDRED spends 10-100 bucks ..
related to hyips?

And what about the 1000 spends over 100 bucks?

Is it common for HYIP spends to be around 50 bucks?

If there are HYIP spends of around 50 bucks, would there be about as
many 50 buckish spends, as one or two dollarish spends?

I would imagine that in any given HYIP, dollarish spends would
outnumber 50 dollarish spends by a large factor (hundreds or
thousands)

It's all very mysterious.....
